My name is Kei Araoka and I am a saxophonist and educator based in Sydney. Before I commenced my journey as a professional musician, I was studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under notable musicIans such as Sean Coffin, Julian Gough, Dave Theak, Col Loughnan, Andrew Oh, James Ryan and Jason Bruer.

My professional experience as a musician has also opened doors to perform on the Australian television reality music competition, X factor. Late last year, I joined a 10 piece show band and we travelled to America, Mexico, Belize and the Bahamas islands with the Carnival Cruise Line. 6 months later, I was invited to perform with local powerhouse pop outfit Sexy Sunday Jam, travelling to New Caledonia on the P&O cruise line.
Two of my biggest highlights were playing at the Manly Jazz Festival and the Merimbula Jazz Festival in 2012. Till today, I continue to hold residencies at venues such as The Star, IVY Bar, Cargo Bar, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, Bangalow 8, Four Seasons Hotel, Sheraton On the Park, Ghost 2 Cruise just to name a few.
My recent engagements have included pop musical outfit, The Sexy Sunday Jam, Electro Alley, Sydney based Funk band, Pocketful of Soul and working as a session musician for weddings, award ceremonies, recitals, charities, workshops and many others.
Apart from performing, I work as a music tutor, teaching at numerous schools such as Concord West Public School and Riverside Girls High School just to name a few. When I am not on stage, I am committed to the development and musical progress of my students.
